Compare the iHome Power Tower's three-in-one design: a Bluetooth speaker, dual wireless charger, and color-changing night light. See if it fits your nightstand.
Quick answer
The iHome Power Tower (iPBT50DG) combines a Bluetooth speaker, a 15W MagSafe-compatible wireless charger, a secondary 5W pad, and a color-changing night light in one vertical tower. It saves nightstand space but forces trade-offs in audio power and charging speed versus dedicated devices.
What the Power Tower does well
If your nightstand is cluttered with a speaker, a charger, and a lamp, the Power Tower replaces all three. The flip-up 15W pad charges recent iPhones and Android phones at full speed, while the lower 5W pad handles AirPods or older devices. The three adjustable color modes let you set a soft ambient glow without a separate lamp.
Where you compromise
The speaker is a single full-range driver designed for casual listening—not for filling a room with bass or stereo separation. The 15W charging pad is fast for phones but the 5W pad is slow for larger devices. You also lose the flexibility of moving the speaker or light independently; the whole unit must sit on a flat surface near a power outlet.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Bluetooth speaker vs. dedicated speaker: The built-in speaker is adequate for podcasts, calls, and background music at close range. It lacks the bass and volume of a larger Bluetooth speaker. Choose this if you value space over audio power.
- Wireless charging vs. dedicated charger: You get two pads in one base, but the 5W pad is slow. The 15W pad is fast enough for most phones, but you cannot charge two phones at full speed simultaneously. Ideal for a phone + earbuds combo, not for two phones.
- Color-changing night light vs. separate lamp: Three adjustable color modes provide soft ambient light. The light is integrated into the tower, so you cannot reposition it independently. Works well as a bedside glow, but not as a reading lamp.
Product facts
- Bluetooth Speaker with Wireless Charger and Color Changing Night Light – Dark Gray (iPBT50DG): The Power Tower features a 15W flip-up MagSafe compatible fast wireless charging pad, plus a 5W charging pad for charging AirPods or other compatible devices. You can charge a modern phone quickly on the top pad while the lower pad handles earbuds, but the 5W pad won't charge a tablet or a second phone at full speed.
